BREEAM is the leading and most popular environmental assessment method worldwide, for buildings and communities. BREEAM sets a standard for best practice in sustainable building design. It provides clients, developers, architects and all industry stakeholders with:
At this stage, the registration checklist will be completed and returned to BRE for appropriate registration. Once registration has concluded, the scheme will then be protected from future changes and updates.
The pre-assessment stage should be undertaken as early as possible in the design process, before the design has been confirmed. The BREEAM AP and the design team will discuss the BREEAM criteria and develop a score based on the design commitments. Once the rating has been agreed, the pre-assessment report will be issued.
3. INITIAL GUIDANCE / DESIGN & PROCUREMENT ASSESSMENT
The D&P assessment process should be started as early as possible in the design process in order to ensure the development gains as many points as possible, cost-effectively.
This stage will provide continuous support to the design team in relation to the preparation and recording of evidence for post construction review.
5. POST CONSTRUCTION REVIEW
This stage will be undertaken upon completion of the development. This stage will confirm the built structure meets the standards committed to during the design and procurement stage. At completion, the final PCR certificate will be issued.
