The Llobregat is one of the most industrially occupied rivers in Spain. It is a well-known fact that many aquatic species from the Llobregat are suffering sever consequences due to water pollution. Water quality must be monitored in order to restore wildlife.

L-Concrete is a product of Incurvo's R&D team, seen as a necessity of creating exterior building products, which can actively enable buildings  to control their energy efficiency. L-Concrete has been designed with a mixture of embedded optical fibres and concrete, making this highly innovative material translucent, therefore providing natural light to buildings. Light sensors installed in the interior, connected to the building management system sense natural lighting and human presence, therefore immediately adjusting the lighting levels within the building in order to optimise energy efficiency.

The use of pultruded FRP bars as reinforcement for structural concrete elements for the construction industry is a key strategy for future light-weight construction. The use of pultruded bars for reinforcement would also aid in construction erection time.

During the monsoon season, heavy rains in tropical counties block sunlight for several days. This project aims at ensuring full-scale functionality of solar operated LED street lights during the monsoons by using low-cost high-efficiency batteries, requiring minimum maintenance.

This project aims at optimising the quantity of carbon fibre quantity in hybrid FRP fabrics, in order to decrease costs whilst maintaining the operating parameters. The intended purpose of the fabrics is mainly for exterior construction elements, where full-scale redevelopment and repair would be very costly.
